“Vernae” was a rather epic project: created and directed by filmmaker, Ethan Folk. There were various components: a film shoot on location along the Yakima River, In Yakima, WA, a series of performance in different locations in Belgrade, Serbia and an installation/performance and film screening at the Northwest Film Forum in Seattle.
Shot of film shooting for Vernae on location beside the Yakima river, Yakima, WA. Mesh piece in the center held a dancer.
Vernae went to Serbia for a series of 5 live performances. Shown is The Drugstore in Belgrade, Serbia which was a former slaughterhouse warehouse, turned into a performance hall. Shown are the mesh pieces I created while there.
Back in Seattle, Vernae mounted a durational performance and film premiere at the Northwest Film Forum. Shown is one Lobby section of the installation - daylight version(without projections)
Northwest Film Forum detail shot of projection on mesh.
The installation filled all the hallways and main airspaces of the Northwest Film Forum to create a set for the durational dance performance
